The base-level SS350 sold for just $290.70 more. In 1970, Nova’s base price was $2,254 (about 18 grand today). The Chevrolet Nova SS was a relative bargain for a muscle car. Performance was a 4.7 second 0-60 and a 13.2 quarter mile. The dealership installed a new 427 short block which they transformed into an L72 by cannibalizing the 396’s cylinder heads, carburetor, intake manifold and distributor, for an output of 450 HP. In 1969, Yenko Chevrolet of Canonsburg, PA, ordered 37 Nova Super Sports with 375 HP 396 CID V8s, which they converted to Yenko Nova S/C. 1969 the Nova SS was now equipped with standard front disc brakes, though Positraction and faster steering were both options. 1969 Chevrolet Novaįor 1969, the SS model’s four-barrel 350 CID V8 saw a five HP increase in output. Despite the power and weight of the big blocks, front disc brakes were optional on the 1968 Nova SS.ġ968 also saw the farewell of the beloved 327 small block, with Chevrolet offering an L79 option on the Nova with a 325 HP version that final year of the motor’s production. Either could be matched to a Muncie M21 or M22 manual or a three-speed Turbo-Hydromantic automatic. The L78, topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake manifold, an 11:1 compression ratio, an aggressive solid lifter cam, and rectangle port cylinder heads, produced 375 HP. Both displaced 396 CID, with the 元4 rated at 350 HP. While four- and six-cylinder engines continued to be offered, in 1968, the Nova became a member of the muscle car ranks with an SS package that included a 295 HP 350 CID small block, F41 heavy-duty suspension and other performance and trim upgrades.Ĭhevrolet also offered two versions of its big block V8s on the SS. The most significant alterations were under the hood. The mechanical underpinnings remained the same, and styling upgrades were pretty much limited to trim items. For 1969, the Chevy II name would be gone.įor the period between 19, the Nova saw few changes. While the convertible was discontinued the following year, Chevrolet now offered a 195 HP 283 CID small block V8, later raised to 220 HP.Ĭhevrolet was also transitioning the name, with Chevy II Nova as the model’s official name in 1968, though mentioned only as Nova in sales literature. Unfortunately, the early SS models were initially limited to six-cylinder engines. So Chevrolet added the Z03 SS package for the model year available on Nova convertibles and Sport Coupe hardtops. However, it was the 1960s, and a plain jane compact car wasn’t swinging enough for the times. In 1962 the Chevy II came within 50,000 units of the well-established Ford Falcon (with the Corvair added, Chevrolet exceeded Ford’s compact car sales). Instead, the Nova name was appended to top-of-the-line 400 series models.Ĭhevy’s efforts had paid off. While Chevrolet brass kicked around the Nova name, the new Chevy compact car became the Chevy II, as it started with the letter C, like other models from the division. This construction provided enough flexibility in manufacturing that it became the basis of F-body Camaros and Firebirds. The suspension was by unequal length a-arms with coil springs at the front and leaf springs at the rear. The chassis was a unitized structure from the firewall back with a bolt-on front clip. Called the X body, it was of a semi-unibody design. Image Credit: 1962-1967 Chevrolet Chevy IIįor the Chevy II, GM developed an all-new platform. In just 18 months, Chevy designed, developed and manufactured an entirely new model, every bit as practical as the Ford compact. And with Ford launching the simple, utilitarian Falcon, Chevy needed a competitor. In 1960, the Chevrolet Motor Division was concerned that the groundbreaking Corvair would not catch on with compact car buyers as the division had first expected. 1968-1974 Chevy Nova the Everyman Muscle Car

Step 3: Connect the HDMI cable to the TV and DVD player Once you have identified the HDMI ports on both your LG Smart TV and DVD player, you are ready to move on to the next step: connecting the HDMI cable. The manuals usually contain diagrams and detailed descriptions that can guide you in locating the HDMI ports. If you are having trouble finding the HDMI ports, consult the user manual of your LG Smart TV and DVD player for assistance. Look for the HDMI port that matches the HDMI port number you noted on your LG Smart TV. It is typically found on the back panel of the player, although some models have it on the front. Next, proceed to locate the HDMI port on your DVD player. Take note of the HDMI port number where you will connect your DVD player. They are labeled as HDMI and numbered accordingly (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.). These ports are usually located on the back or side of the TV, depending on the model. Start by examining your LG Smart TV and look for the HDMI ports. In order to successfully connect your DVD player to your LG Smart TV, you need to locate the HDMI ports on both devices. Step 2: Locate the HDMI ports on your TV and DVD player Once you have gathered the necessary cables, you are ready to move on to the next step: locating the HDMI ports on your TV and DVD player. Make sure you have the power cable readily available, as you will need it to power on the DVD player. This cable typically comes with the DVD player when you purchase it. If not, be sure to purchase an HDMI cable separately.Īnother cable you might need is the power cable for your DVD player. It’s important to note that not all DVD players may come with an HDMI cable included, so it’s a good idea to check the box or documentation of your DVD player to see if one is included. When selecting an HDMI cable, ensure that it is long enough to reach from your DVD player to your LG Smart TV without any strain or tension. HDMI cables are widely available and can be purchased at electronics stores or online. You will need an HDMI cable, which is the most common and recommended option for connecting these devices. The first step in connecting your DVD player to your LG Smart TV is to gather the necessary cables. In fact, Microtech is the OTF brand – arguably the most well-known name when it comes to high end automatics and OTF knives. The MicrotechUltratech is, to many people, the out-the-front knife. If you like the Infidel you’ll probably also like the Pagan, which is another great OTF but is so similar to the Infidel it doesn’t warrant a separate entry on this list. There’s also a Gold Class Infidel that was produced in very limited numbers, with an acid-etched stainless Damasteel drop point blade, heat-anodized handle and hardware, and a suitably high price tag as well. Although it’s pricey at typically over $400 retail, the Infidel has been in production for ten years now (which Benchmade reminded us of by releasing the 10 Year Anniversary Model in S30V) and is a well-known favorite of those who serve in the military for its robust build quality and dependable, easy deployment. The deep carry pocket clip (inscribed with The Infidel…) is configured for right had tip down carry only. The blade itself is D2 tool steel, satin finished and chisel ground on both sides for a double-sided dagger shape. A series a milled “steps” in the aluminum handle aid grip. This is a more natural action for your hand (similar to hand placement for deploying a folding knife via a thumb stud or hole) and gives you a more solid grip when the knife fires open. The Infidel is a dual action OTF meaning the switch pushes it out as well as pulls it in, and unlike a lot of OTF’s the switch is mounted on the handle rather than the spine. Note at the time of writing the full size Infidel now only comes in black (3300BK). Weights are 4.5 ounces and 3.4 ounces, respectively. It comes in two sizes: the full fat 3300 Infidel with its 3.9” blade and 8.9” overall length, and the newer Infidel Mini with a 3.10” blade and a 7.10” overall length. The Benchmade 3300 Infidel is one of the best-known OTF’s on the planet, and arguably one of the best regarded. With that, here’s a list of some of the better OTF knives on the market today. A dual action OTF means that both the deployment as well as the retraction are powered, usually by pushing and pulling the same control switch in different directions. Single action means that only the deployment is powered but the blade has to be forced back into the body manually. In general, there are two types of OTF knives: single action and dual action. In contrast, the natural position of the Spring Assisted Knife is closed and there is no pressure being exerted upon the blade which has to be deployed by some manual action (i.e flipping) by the user which is then assisted by a spring. The button allows the stored energy of the spring to propel the blade out from the handle. Now, the distinction versus Spring Assisted Knives is that with a switchblade or automatic knife the blade’s natural position is open, and it’s being held closed by a locking spring mechanism that’s released with a button or switch. Specifically, the OTF knife is a switchblade where the blade simply comes ‘out the front’. For the uninformed, OTF knives are a type of switchblade – that is, an automatic knife which deploys the blade ‘automatically’ on pressing a button or switch. “The soft white background with the delicate indigo pattern blurs the lines between subtle pattern and texture.” “We wanted something that had interest but wasn’t so bold you would grow tired of it,” Miller says. Designer and NKBA member Julee Ireland says, “Lighting is the jewelry to your home and creating layers from the ground up is so important. Designers are now folding more layers of lighting into their plans, including ambient, decorative, and nighttime lighting. We’ve discussed before the importance of layered lighting when it comes to other spaces in the home, but it can be just as impactful in the kitchen. So how does encryption, and why does it present problems when it comes to data recovery? When data is encrypted, the information is taken and scrambled into gibberish using a specific algorithm from software, or by hardware in the case of self-encrypting drives. In an age of the ‘I forgot my password’ reset features, many people are perplexed when they find they can’t access their data due to misplacing their encryption key. But what implications does encryption have for data recovery?Īlthough encryption brings a whole host of benefits, there is a possibility that you won’t be able to access your data again. Fortunately, you will now know how to recover BitLocker encrypted hard drive with AnyRecover, a premium data recovery tool that safely retrieves data in a wide variety of situations.Encryption is a fantastic tool, and has helped create a more secure environment for business and consumers the world over. It’s also an example of why users need to understand the pros and cons of encrypting their hard drives with tools like BitLocker. This is one situation where the obvious benefits of backing up data become apparent. Confirm the encryption by using the command PS C:\> Get-BitlockerVolume and checking that it says Fully Decrypted. Enter the command PS C:\>Disable-BitLocker -MountPoint “C:”. Open Windows Powershell and run it as an administrator. If you only want a single hard drive to have BitLocker removed, use these steps instead. To confirm the drives are decrypted, type PS C:\> Get-BitlockerVolume and make sure it says Fully Decrypted. Type the command PS C:\>$BLV = Get-BitLockerVolume and then PS C:\>Disable-BitLocker -MountPoint $BLV. Open Windows Powershell, and run it as administrator. To begin with, we will show you how to remove it from all drives. There are two ways of using the Powershell for this solution – you can either remove BitLocker from all hard drives or from a specific hard drive. If not, try using Windows Powershell to recover BitLocker encrypted hard drive instead. Perhaps the Windows Settings method didn’t yield results to remove the BitLocker encryption. Disable BitLocker Encryption with Windows Powershell Mode You should now be able to access your hard drive without the BitLocker limits. After it’s off, press the option Turn off BitLocker/Decrypt the drive and this will conclude the process. Select the hard drive and click on Turn Off BitLocker, then wait until it is disabled. Select the BitLocker Drive Encryption setting and locate the encrypted hard drive from the list that is shown. Navigate to the Control Panel and click the System and Security menu. This approach is very straightforward and is usually the quickest way. The easiest way of disabling BitLocker for most users is by using the Windows GUI mode. Disable BitLocker Encryption with Windows GUI Mode This isn’t as easy a process as it is recovering data with AnyRecover is, but take your time and try one of these methods.
